Brownfield Land
Brownfield Land is land that has been previously developed and was occupied by a permanent structure, including associated fixed surface infrastructure. Redevelopment projects must address Sequential Test requirements before planning can be granted. The national SuDS standards set out drainage obligations for brownfield redevelopment.

Case Example
Redeveloping an old inner-city factory into apartments is a Brownfield project. The drainage strategy must prove that the new design manages water better than the original industrial site did.
